ANOPLATE  Approach & Response to COVID-19 

The spread of the COVID-19 is the most serious global health risk the world has seen in decades. Face Shields

Anoplate has developed a face shield, in conjunction with an international design team, a face shield which is durable, reusable, comfortable and easy to assemble and use. The Anoplate face shield acts as a barrier against droplets reaching a persons eyes, nose and mouth area on a face, by ensuring the key areas are protected with a 400 micron face shield.

 Unlike traditional face shields, the Anoplate face shield has three distinct features, being:

• protection over the top of the  head (and not just from the forehead);

• a strap that goes around the forehead and head, and does not use foam, which is known to collect and retain germs; and

• the face shield comes in two parts, being the face shield itself and the strap, and the end-consumer attaches the strap onto the face shield to ensure it fits the person, which reduces cost and allows flexibility with sizing the face shield on a head.

As a result of the above, Anoplate is able to provide a significantly more scientific face shield with greater protection at a reduced cost, as a result of its two-part assembly and unique design.

Further, the Anoplate face shield is fitted in such a way, that it does not mist up when breathing. It has sufficient space for people to wear glasses, as well as drink products from underneath. Importantly, the face shields are reusable and easily washable.
